Turned out nice. Had this professionally installed and mounted the post in concrete blocks to give more stability. The metal pieces itself is lightweight aluminum but when connected together it’s sturdy. Only gripe are the shade connector poles. Their means of connecting could be improved because they slide off & disconnect from one another every now & then but so far holds up well with rain when shade is pulled back. We were looking for a free standing awning to shade one side of our 3m x 3m pergola. This awning was the perfect answer. A couple of cable ties to hold it in place and the job was done! Construction was straightforward BUT you have to have the winding mechanism on the left. Removable and washable. The powder-coated aluminum frame is strong, with eight ground stakes to pin it to the ground. Eight grommet holes prevent water from building up on the canopy. Large open design to host plenty of family and friends. Four curtains can be zipped down or tied back. Not fit for heavy weather conditions.
