The automatic opening and closing control system consists of a computer chip, an infrared detecting device, a mechanical transmitting device, and an electrical drive system. It is a high-performance device, which is low in energy consumption and will give a long service life.

And it stays open until you are ready to close it - ideal during food prep or while finishing up long chores. The simplehuman code M liner fits this bin perfectly no bunching or slipping for a cleaner experience.

I wanted this trash bin because of the handle bar open. Motion sensor was out of the question for me because of my narrow kitchen and I shied away from step cans because of accidental opens. It looks good but the steel is thin, thinner than cheaper trash cans I've seen for 1/3 the price. The first one I received had a big dent on the edge. The box and shipping box were not damaged. The second one I received was perfect. The handle bar and manual closing becomes tedious and I wish I opted for a step can. I saw the Kohler step can recently and it has thicker steel, soft close, and feels quality made.. Samuel. Forest Hills, NY. Thu Feb 14 2019
