On a calm moonless night on 15th April 1912, the most renowned sea disaster in history happened 600 kilometers away from Newfoundland. The most innovative ship ever constructed by a human engineering genius crashed with an iceberg and sank, killing 1,517 passengers and crew. The "Olympic" class ship bore the name "Titanic" and turned out to symbolize the superiority of the forces of nature over the human mind. Regardless of the terrible accident that caused the disaster, the Titanic is worthy of admiration as shipbuilders' most perfect creation of the early 20th century. At the time of its launch, it was the biggest passenger steamer. Its length was 269 meters, an approximate equivalent of three football fields, while its width was 28 meters. The height from the keel to the top of the mast is 56 meters, which is approximately the height of a modern 20-storey building. The steamer's mass was 52310 tons. This is nearly 300 Boeing 747 aircraft.

The barrel and tripod of this telescope are bound in leather for an authentic-looking antique effect. The case is complete with sliding shade and lens cap, and offers 6x magnification and a 25mm object lens. Stands 36cm tall, barrel length 27cm.

Our planet carefully stores its treasures and in order to get them, it is not always enough to dig a quarry, build a tower, or a mine on land. Increasingly, minerals have to be mined in areas covered with water. And the fantastic structures - floating platforms come to help. This is almost a city area on the water - with residential blocks, factory buildings, mechanisms, helipads and even its own tower - a rig or headframe, which give the platform a skyline. For the first time, an offshore oil rig was created in the United States in the 30s. Configurations and technologies have changed a lot since then. The highest offshore platform is in Norway. Its height is 472 meters, this is the height of the famous "Oriental Pearl" in Shanghai. The deepest harvesting is conducted by a platform in the Gulf of Mexico. Oil production is carried out from a depth of more than 3 km. These steel monsters are impressive. But very few people manage to see the offshore drilling platform live.

They look amazing and really elegant - beautiful in my garden!! Buy them you won’t be disappointed!!!. Maria. Peacehaven, GB. Tue Apr 20 2021

Aboard HMS Beagle during the Darwin Expeditions of 1831-36, Captain Robert Fitzroy developed and refined the 18th-century storm bottle. This involved much testing and observation of crystal formations and resulted in him being able to make a number of weather predictions with a fair(is) degree of accuracy. Then, as now, no one is quite sure how the storm bottle works. Is it atmospheric pressure, temperature, electrical disturbances? Keep your own records and see if you can confirm or improve upon Fitzroy’s observations.

The old fellow CG-47305 was cutting through the turquoise waters of Bodega Bay, carrying out another patrol of marine reserves, when the radar detected an object moving at high speed. Of course, it could be the local "golden" youth from San Francisco, squeezing out all the power on a speedboat, or the poachers. And the team decided to check the ship, because this is the work of the coast guard. The patrol engine roared, and quickly picked up a cruising speed. Despite its age, it could still compete with glamorous motorboats. In addition, the crew knew these waters like the back of their hand. The chase was short and ended unexpectedly: an automatic fire was heard from the side of the boat. The bullets did not even scratch the armored side of the patrol boat, but it became clear to everyone: the case was taking a criminal turn. The crew commander notified the police and decided to continue pursuit. The patrol boat pressed the intruders' boat closer and closer to the shore. The criminals tried, but there is nowhere to hide in the ocean.

Strips of stainless steel are formed into a sinewy body that leaves a dynamic impression. The steel is colored gold, with slim slivers of steel arranged at certain points to replicate fins and teeth. The barracuda is mounted on two slim rods set into a wooden base, the latter colored black to contrast the gold.
