Yes, of course, this is my homage to the Mighty William Morris. He is one of my all-time design heroes, not only due to his genius eye for extraordinarily muscular repeats but also because he was such a jolly old soul. Like him, I have a love for Florentine Fabrics of the early Renaissance, and I have used them as a springboard to propel my aesthetic onward and upward. There is a lot to love here, and it is definitely a paper to lose yourself in. Watch it like Netflix—I do.

Perhaps William Morris’s most recognisable design, Strawberry Thief was inspired by the thrushes that crept under Morris’s strawberry nets in his garden at Kelmscott Manor, Oxfordshire. The original pattern took several days to print using hand-carved woodblocks to build up the different colours, and ‘Strawberry Thief’ was consequently one of Morris’s firm’s most expensive cottons. Whilst waiting to see the first piece printed, Morris endured sleepless nights in his lodgings at Merton Abbey. Designed in 1883, Strawberry Thief remains one of William Morris’s most popular and iconic designs. Strawberry Thief Soft Blue mural provides an artist interpretation of Morris' iconic design, introducing mustard yellow with a mixture of soft blue shades, contrasted on a soft white backdrop. This lighter palette, matt substrate finish mural, provides a soft intricacy, making it a beautiful addition to any room. This mural comes in a 4x2.5 metre size.

Green

Designed in 1892, Blackthorn was originally block-printed and features white blackthorn (or sloe) blossom and violets with meadow flowers of red snakes head fritillaries and yellow daisies. The flowers bloom from a lattice of curling foliage, leaves, and stems in this iconic Morris pattern. Typical of Morris' work, Blackthorn is a celebration of the beauty of nature. Blackthorn Daydream is a slightly softer take on Morris' classical design, with shades of neutral-blush, muted yellow and multi-tonal grey, accompanied by subtle white motifs throughout and laid upon a light grey background. This hand block printed design features large sensual tulips and their curling leaves, intwined with foliage and small pimpernel flowers. The pattern is a wonderful example of William Morris at Home' sense of humour since on initial inspection your eye is drawn towards the dominating, graphic tulip heads and yet the name of the design is attributed to the secondary floral detail; the smaller Pimpernel flower. Pimpernel Ocean displays a depth of detail through its multi-tonal palette of mid-tone blue and light grey hues, subtly accentuated by notes of blush pink represented in the flowers featured weaving throughout and finally brought to life by a soft beige feature colour. Although Morris regularly used birds in his designs, Brother Rabbit is his only repeating pattern to feature an animal. Designed in 1882, the design was originally created using wood blocks, which are now in the collection of the William Morris at Home Gallery. Morris' skilled team of printers would use up to 25 blocks per design in order to create his dense patterns. Brother Rabbit Lullaby Blues wallpaper features beautifully entwined leaves and trees in multi-tonal sage and light blush pink, with accents of deep mustard yellow.
