The Holme is a very practical lean to greenhouse which will provide all the advantages of a timber greenhouse in a compact size to suit many locations. I ended up purchasing the 11x7 Poppy greenhouse over the Memorial Day weekend, after reading a multitude of reviews. Based on those reviews I decided to give Backyard Discovery a chance. From delivery to final build I could not have been happier with the experience. As a DIYer, this was in my wheelhouse. What was most impressive was the build instructions, which were complimented by the online 3D app. The inventory list for each box was invaluable in saving time from having to look for the multitude of parts and hardware. To make the build easier, I set up a 6ft table in my garage and placed all of the hardware in plastic containers which were arranged numerically. This preparation will save an enormous amount of time searching for specific hardware. The quality of the cedar was very good, solid, and consistent. Throughout the build, the instructions actually had notes, in red, that were important “lookouts” so as not to make an error with regards to specific part orientation or sequence. As I worked my way through the build, the more impressed I became with the instructions and how I could tell that the folks responsible for the instructions were truly hands-on common sense engineers. My hat off to the company for their efforts in making these projects enjoyable along with providing a wonderful finished product…that appears to last. As with any quality build, if you do not ensure that the pad is level and the sidewalls are not square and level, you will not have an enjoyable experience. First of all 5 stars and more to Wayfair especially to Lucy in customer services for sorting out the issues we had with the summer house. Summer house arrived on time. Good communication from the delivery company regarding emails and text messages - no problems until we started to check the package. So due to the issues we had I am only giving the summer house 3 stars at a push simply for the quality of the summerhouse. Sadly the workmanship is a little poor, nails either too far in creating holes for you to fill with wood filler, or nails that need an hammer to tap in but not all can be tapped in due to how near the nails are to the windows. (Windows are perspex and not glass). Nails sticking out here there and everywhere. Arrived with some parts damaged, 1 x window dropped out as it wasnt nailed in (nails missing). Bits of wood broken and cracked which we managed to sort. Instructions are pretty poor but we are skilled people so we did work it out eventually. Panels arrived with nails in wrong places or nails cracking the wood nails also where they shouldn't be so had to be cut off using a dremel (couldn't hammer them back out due to the angle they had been put in during the manufacturing process). We bought extra sanding sheets and wood filler before painting it. The reason we didn't send it back was due to the fact we do actually love it and it was the correct and perfect size for our small garden. Took roughly 3 to 4 hours to put up and took around 3 coats of paint over a few days. Rang Wayfair and supplied them with plenty of photos of the damages and flaws. I would give this greenhouse 5 stars if I could, but it was quite difficult to assemble and needed both myself and my husband. It took us a weekend to complete it. You also need to build a base if not included. The result is a lovely little greenhouse and it has stood up to the winds and gales we have had recently. We did reinforce the panels with glass tape and so far we have had no leaks, also the window has a very strange closing. We ordered the 5x3 mtr lean to gazebo, so not a small structure! The delivery was excellent, they kept us informed of delivery time, so we were prepared, they had waterproof cover for everything, so it was not left out in the elements. Thoughtfulness throughout. Everything was good quality, clear instructions. My husband is 76, and not a builder, rather he was an engineer, so this was a big job to tackle on his own. The only time he asked for help was to lift the front, so he could attach the beams to the wall mounting, it took four men to lift and hold the front upright, whilst he fixed the beams. Apart from that he did everything himself, making sure at all times everything was square and level. He did a fantastic job! I am beyond pleased with the result. It took him 9 days to build, and put the roofing tiles on, and then we had to wait as he ordered the lead etc which was the very last task. A point to note , everything you need to build the gazebo is there, apart from the lead, filler, wall bolts and patio fixing bolts. The hard wear that is with the gazebo kit, is counted so exactly the right amount is there, no extras, so be careful, dont loose, or misplace anything! We have ended up with an amazing gazebo, so much usable space now to eat outside, sit and relax, we absolutely love it, and have had so many compliments from friends and neighbours!
