The armillary sphere shows the Earth (a central ball) surrounded by rings (armilla in Latin) which represent the great circles of the heavens. It was widely used during the 17th and 18th centuries in scientific debates over the relative merits of the competing central Earth and central Sun theories. Our simplified, decorative brass versions make handsome ornaments for the desk or garden. Made from solid machines brass with an antique finish.

Everything about this ornament is perfect. The size and colour are as stated/shown in the specifications and the picture. It arrived perfectly packed and when I opened it I was delighted to see it was even better than I had anticipated. Everyone who has seen it it are 'knocked out' by it and say what a beautiful addition to the room and it is so in keeping with the décor of the room. In my opinion it is perfect and well worth every penny I spent on it.. Charles Edward. St. Neots, GB. Tue Aug 31 2021

This decorative lantern gives a warm night-time glow anywhere in your garden. The solar panel absorbs energy during the day, so the fire crackle bulb automatically lights up at dusk. Use along a path, a driveway, in shrub beds, or in planters and pots.

This vase filler looks fantastic displayed on its own, or in one of the ceramic dishes.

The little-known GPS of Ancient Times. Perhaps the most used multipurpose astronomical instrument in history, the astrolabe is known to have been in use since at least 200BC and rose to prominence in the Middle Ages. Essentially, it’s an elaborate inclinometer-cum-slide rule, used to measure the altitude above the horizon of a celestial body. It can be used to identify stars or planets, to determine local latitude, to survey, and even determine your horoscope. The arrival, in the 17th-18th centuries, of accurate sextants and reliable portable chronometers rendered the astrolabe obsolete for navigation at sea, but it remains a fascinating and little-understood instrument. This replica, in polished brass, sits in a wooden plinth and stands 18cm tall.

A perfect decorative ornament for your pond. This globe is made from stainless steel, completely sealed so they float on water. A jewel in every garden with a symbolic meaning. This stainless steel globe was used to ward off witches, diseases and adversity. Witches were not allowed to see their own mirror image; this would deprive them of their magic. Nowadays using this globe as an eye-catcher in the garden, pond or as decoration indoors. The reflection scares the herons and birds of prey away. Unbreakable packed in a gift box
