I had a wonderful trip to Orkney where I collected some sand and shells on the beautiful beaches. I wanted something special to display them in. I wanted a rustic looking wood and also a shape that reflected the sea. So when I saw this item I thought it was perfect. Pots are made from Scandinavian Redwood and it is treated in an oil based preservative. All pots come assembled except raised beds where you need to fix legs. Your pots are supplied with one coat of the 'Taylor Brown' oil based preservative. To help protect and extend the life of your planter we strongly recommend for you to apply another coat every 6-12 months. Wood is a natural product and may expand and retract depending on the weather conditions therefore we can not be held responsible for cracking, splitting, warping and shrinkage as this is a natural occurrence, because of this it may be necessary to check the tightness of the bolts/screws. Resin is occasionally present in the timber and is no detriment, should this appear simply wipe with a cloth/white spirit.

I ordered one of these as a present back in January and the colours were stunning-bright red, grey and gold. I wanted to treat myself recently so ordered exactly the same one for myself and was very disappointed when it arrived. The bright red was in fact pink, so the overall effect was far less stunning. So I started a return and was amazed to see that even though the product did not meet the description online I had to pay £6.99 to return the item by DHL. The nearest DHL drop-off is 5 miles away from here. I would have kept the product had the colours being right but through no fault of my own I have had to incur this cost to return the bowl to Wayfair. I can’t find anywhere online where I can contact the head office so I’m having to write this negative review here. It doesn’t seem fair that if the product does not meet the specification online that the customer has to pay the postage cost and the whole returns procedure is very difficult by only having DHL as the carrier..
