In order to switch up the coarseness, you simply need to turn the top of the device clockwise for a fine grind and anti-clockwise for a coarse grind. Nice product but it was clearly something that had previously been returned. They come with small starter packets of saltpepper and my pepper grinder already had the pepper in it.
