The description of the plate disappointed me. It claimed to be 9 inch diameter. The adhesive tag on the plate says it is 8 inches. It actually measures 8 1/2 inches. It is exactly the same as the grouping that had multiple flower patterns. I only picked this set for the 9 inch measurement. I was disappointed that all the plates were the same exact pattern. I looked at the two question and answers about pattern. It was vague. It should have be precise and say that each plate had a different pattern. Instead, it said that each plate had it's own pattern. I would have preferred the multiple patterns (which was on sale for less, too). I really like Portmeirion Botanic Bay, and would have ordered two sets of the multiple pattern salad plates. Since, I picked the set that said 9 inch and it arrived with different sizing and one pattern, I went back and ordered another set of multiple.
