Rockingham Forge’s new professional sharpening whetstones will give you blades which are sharper, safer and easier to use than ever before. Available in single or combination stones with varying degrees of grit and coarseness, it’s time to embrace the number one recognised method of sharpening! The grit size or coarseness of a sharpening whetstone is indicated by numbers. The higher the number or GRIT, the finer the stone, the less steel it will cut through and the better it will polish the edge to a sharp bite. 240-1000 grit are coarse blocks, cutting steel more quickly and therefore best for damaged, chipped, rusty or blunt knives. 3000-8000 grit are honing or polishing stones, used to refine the edge of the blade, removing scratches and burr left from coarser stones and giving the blade a shiny, mirror finish. When using the whetstone, continue applying water whilst sharpening, making sure the stone remains wet. The water will react with particles in the stone to form an abrasive substance which enables the sharpening process.

If you’re looking for a quick, efficient and reliable way to sharpen your favourite knives, look no further. Grunwerg’s Rockingham Forge range of pull-through sharpening accessories has something for everyone, from manual to electric sharpeners that can be used in the home or in a workplace. Once you have invested in a quality set of knives, you want to make them last as long as possible. If you have invested in a set of our premium knives, a lot of people assume that if they are made with quality material, they can take care of themselves. This is not the case. Pull-Through Sharpeners: With either bands or wheels made from the sharpening material. These are the simplest to use, as the knife needs to be purely run backwards and forwards, provided the sharpener is set at the right angle. Cleaning: We advise that you clean your knives with warm soapy water. A lot of people do put their knives in the dishwasher, but we will never encourage this. The reason for is because dishwasher detergent is very abrasive, and along with the banging around that happens during a wash cycle, will take the sharp edge right off your knife. (Plus, it's not safe for the person unloading the dishwasher).

The Rockingham Forge Knife Sharpening kit features all the components you need to restore kitchen knives from a blunt or chipped state to high levels of sharpness in no time! The set features a dual grit whetstone, with a 400-grit edge for restoring chipped and completely blunt knives, and a 1000-grit edge for honing dull blades. Using this set, you could take your damaged knives from a useless state back to chopping, slicing, and dicing quickly and easily. The whetstone is made of ceramic, which is easier to use and clean than conventional corundum stones, as well as being longer lasting. To make the sharpening stones as easy to use as possible, the set also includes an angle guide to help keep your knives at the optimal sharpening angle as well as a non-slip base, protective carry case, and sharpening stone leveller.

This manual knife sharpener utilizes a 'pull through' method to make the short work of honing your kitchen knives. The ceramic sharpening groove is extremely durable and hard-wearing and will provide the best results for your knives, time after time.
I did not receive a full order, just ceramic sharpening wheels with no case . The photo shows what arrived with no case. The purchase was made and no item received after 2 weeks, I contacted wayfair and they said it had not been sent and would resend. However a spare set of sharpening wheels is not what I paid for. I paid for a complete sharpening kit. I’m shocked at such poor and neglectful service. Caroline. Paignton, GB. Thu May 18 2023
