Looks exactly as on the pictures, bright and pretty. The stripes on the larger plates look a bit uneven in each stripes width, but maybe it is meant to be like that. Good quality, but to call the coffee cups mugs is stretching out a bit. Of the 3 sets available with plates, cups, and saucers these are the largest at 0.22l. The others are more classic teacup shape, but smaller at 0.20l and 0.14l respectively - and the latter also having smaller bread plates in place of side plates and smaller saucers. Mugs are available separately or with bowls, and these are a more respectable 0.37l and can be classed as mugs ) But I love the quality and the shape of these pieces. The plates have quite a deep lip to them, so should be good if you like lots of gravy. The bowls are wide and shallow, ideal for soups, pasta and rice dishes. Really looking forward to using them. They are microwave, dishwasher, and oven safe, and chip resistant. The shape is beautiful, a squashed and squared octagon in effect.
