• Shortening the cable needs to be carried out via the ceiling rose. The rose twists off of the plastic body and there is a plastic cover clamping down on the wires. It’s held in place by two Philips screws and this needs to be removed to gain access. The cable can be cut and reattached to the connector block once you're happy with the new length. You will need the keep the braided heat sleeves that cover the wires to the block connector. This is to maintain the Class II double-insulated safety of the pendant. Our advice on this is that this modification needs to be carried out by a competent person with the fitting isolated from the power supply.
