The light is beautiful quality and we did not use the chain. Although a little more expensive than other lights I consider it well worth the money. Disappointingly it arrived without the light bulbs despite it being clearly indicated they would be included, otherwise I would have given 5 stars. However Wayfair have agreed to forward the missing bulbs.
