The light cable is the same thickness as the other 2 suspension cables all 3 are realy thin. The mechanism for raising / lowering the height is simple and effective and easy to level our rose is on an angle in a vaulted cealing. There are a number of sizes we have a very large extension but went with the smallest as we cut out some cardboard mock ups beforehand to judge the impact and size something I would recommend. Overall 5 star couldn't be happier with it
