Lovely,unusual lamp ,gives a nice warm glow when on & looks very decorative when off .I bought the 'yellow' but looks more of a gold colour (which I was hoping for.

Our new house motto is to only buy things which evoke a sense of joy or helpful functionality. This curious lamp does both. It arrived extremely well-packed but without instructions. There is a claylike cover that slides onto a wooden base, held in place by three metal prongs (which you gently bend and slide inside the cover. There are bits of coloured glass/metal in the clay, which make a pretty mosaic effect when lit. It needs an E14 (SES) bulb (not included) and has a short black electrical cord with an on/off switch. The trick is to position the lamp so that the cord does not pull it off the small shelf it is on -- so far we have managed to keep it safe. ;) The light is not ideal for reading, but for ambiance. I stuck our Yellow one in an uninsulated glass foyer to offer a soft, welcoming glow to nighttime arrivals. I was worried that the glass would crack, but so far it has heartily withstood the cold outside temperature of winter alongside the meagre heat of the energy-efficient bulb.
