The lamp post has a clever dual brightness setting which works to conserve the battery's charge as much as possible. The high brightness setting is great for summer with fewer hours of darkness it operates at full without using the charge of the battery. The low brightness setting is suited to winter when there are very little hours of bright sunlight where your light will operate of the battery longer. This is a really lovely light. The bevelled glass is especially pleasing. It was delivered quickly. My only gripe is that it could have been packaged better.
