Lamp looks exactly as pictured and was packaged well. The only setup required was plugging the head cable into the switch cord. Initially, there was a second or so delay between switching it on (from the wall) and the lamp lighting up, but after a day, this is no longer the case. Be warned, the rectangle LED piece is more flexible than you may think, so keep this in mind when moving it around and ensure you carry from the base whilst guiding the lamp part for support. Listen to the instructions and avoid looking directly at the light, because it is indeed incredibly bright. I love the lamp. It perfectly illuminates my little office. It's sturdy with a strong, weighted base so it is not tipping over. I like the fact that the head can be angled so you can direct the light where you need it the most. I just bought it and used it for front lighting for a zoom meeting and it was fantastic, gave my skin just the right amount of tint. It's also good to read under too.
