The ceiling fitting has a subtle mottle to it although the metal circles are robust and plain black in colour. I purchased contemporary round big bold light bulbs from another company and it oozes quality giving off enough light when the surrounding spot lights are switched off . My electrician has just been to connect my Cattima 3 light. He could do nothing with it as wires had been cut and in his words it’s in a total mess. There is no connection instructions in English, only in four other European languages. He said there was no way he could even guess at how to connect this. I’m sorry to have to say this as I’ve had an electric fire and a 6’ garden gate. Both of these items I have been more than satisfied with.
