The Flexible neck allows you to point the lamp in pretty much any dircection, which works really well for those using it to study, or as a reading lamp. Really happy with the purchase! Very good price for a decent quality, versatile little lamp. The only downside is that the lampshade just sits on the base, so there is the potential for it to be knocked off - especially as I have a cat that loves to jump up on the bedside tables. I do think it should have come with such an unusual bulb. I am giving it as a gift and I know they will love it! because it’s very minimalist !! I did buy the bulb and it was 8 bucks!!
