The Bettacare Chunky Wooden Screw Fit Pet Gate range fits all gaps between 63.5cm - 105.5cm. These gates can be opened either way and operated with one hand. The robust screw fitting design is easily installed, but once in place makes a solid barrier which will withstand the impact from even the most spirited of pets. The gate panels measure 71cm in height, and when using the installation template the gate will measure 75.5cm from the floor. It is possible to mount the gate higher off the floor if preferred, but it is advised to ensure your pet can not crawl under the height you install the lower set of fittings. The solid wood frame is thicker than the average screw fitted gate measuring a full 5cm (with panels interlocking). The wider frame provides a more solid feel to the gate, ensures a quieter closing mechanism, and provides greater protection against dogs chewing. (it is recommended to purchase additional anti-chew spray should you be worried your pet may consistently try to chew the gate). The gates can additionally be used outdoors, however it is recommended to remove the panels from the fittings for storage during prolonged periods of wet weather. The range is available in five different colours to suit any home interior.

Unfortunately the mesh did not fit tight as shown in photograph of this gate. I was concerned that our dog may get her head caught underneath the bottom of the mesh, so returned the gate as unsuitable for what we need. A good point though of the design is that the roller end can be easily lift from the brackets to store when not in use.. Kathleen. Chichester, GB. Fri Sep 25 2026

The Eco gate comes as two panels with a simple central connector which fits standard widths of 70 - 80cm. A range of extensions are available which simply slot between the main panels to fit any width up to 140cm. By removing the traditional overlapping system of traditional screw fit pet gates, the whole installation process has been simplified to five easy to follow steps. The Eco gate has a simple manual opening and closing system. The push to release button is activated with a thumb, allowing the user to lift the gate frame out of the cradle with ease. Once through the gate, simply slot the fittings back into the cradle. Screw fit gates are recommended for use at the top of a flight of stairs as they do not have a trip bar, unlike pressure fit gates. However, it is equally important that a gate can be restricted to open ONLY away from the stairs to avoid any potential dangers of falls. The Eco gate has a one-way restrictor to resolve this issue, but also has the option to enable the gate to open in both directions should the gate be installed elsewhere in the home. The Eco gate is available in three colours: white, black and grey to match all home interiors. The Eco gate is the dog gate which is friendly on the environment and incorporates all the latest in screw fit pet gate technology.

We really needed this to keep the dogs from going downstairs. Since we have a metal railing on the one side, though, we had to buy a hook to latch it. We knew we would need to modify it since its not an actual doorway. We are happy, though. It was money well spent.. Kristin. Twinsburg, OH. Tue Jul 15 2025

The Eco gate resolves the issue of both wasted steel in production and reduces unnecessary packaging. The design of traditional screw fit pet gates has resulted in up to 40% more steel being produced than is required for the products intended purpose. With millions of screw fit pet gates being produced every year, the environmental impact is obvious. The traditional design uses two overlapping panels, which can be adjusted to fit a variety of widths. Every centimetre of overlap is wasted steel. With an innovative product development, the eco gate was designed so it will fit exactly to your required width with no wasted steel. Additionally, the Eco Gate comes in packaging only 38cm wide, close to half the dimensions of other screw fitted gates.

Look at our fence! Consisting of natural fir wood is the sturdy and durable, and it also offers your pets a safe area to play and sleep. In this way, you can devote yourself to other activities.

Most retractable pet gates under £35 cut corners — flimsy mesh that tears within weeks, bulky bottom bars that trip up your toddler, and fixed mounts that leave the reel taking up permanent wall space even when you don't need it. This premium grey retractable gate is built differently: 140cm wide and 86.5cm tall to fit wider openings, reinforced with scratch-proof chew-resistant woven mesh that stands up to daily pawing, engineered with a trip-free no-threshold base that keeps walkways safe for everyone, and designed with a fully detachable reel that stores vertically in seconds when not in use. A small step up in price for a significant step up in quality — because your home and your pet deserve better than the budget alternative.
