This is a COWHIDE RUG!! For some reason I thought it was smooth leather it is NOT. It has the hair on. Thats okay, though - I love it! It is very heavy, and the turquoise splatter effect is very bright. It has a very sturdy backing, and seems well made. The patchwork is pieced together with a zig zag stitch, so be prepared for that, but together it all just works! It looks great with our bohemian style of decorating. Another Win from Wayfair!
