Beautiful rug, depending on direction you view from the pile can look lighter or darker but it is a beautiful rug, Not being wool it is very lightweight and a week later is still curled at edges and rolled wrinkles but they are more or less hidden by sofa and furniture. I love my purchase and it is exactly what I was looking for. The rug is anchored by opposite sofas but I imagine if you bought this as a stand alone rug you would definitely need a rug gripper..
