Mostly you can recognize the gabbeh rugs by the coarse weaving technique and the animal motifs, which are worked into the carpet. The sheep and goat wool is processed with natural and strong dyes. The Gabbeh belongs to the carpets that were made by nomads and used for several purposes. The Gabbeh carpet is despite the coarse weave / loom a very soft carpet and fits wonderfully in the bedroom, hallway, and living room. The popularity of Gabbeh carpets increased enormously in the 90s.

I ordered 170x230 size. What arrived was 170x220. Just a bit shorter than expected. A pity the lighter one was not available when showing as available online. Quality very good.
