The texture of this carpet is soft and smooth, it is very comfortable to walk on. Whilst being soft and smooth, it is very durable and practical. The carpet is made using a fibre called polypropylene. Polypropylene is a man made a fibre that has amazing properties and advantages. This carpet is 100% bleach cleanable and stain resistant. The material is resistant to fading from the UV sunlight. It is anti-static and moth proof. The product has a low radius of ignition and has been hot nut tested to comply with (BS 4790). This is a very thick and heavy high/low motif rug. It is very striking. I bought a small version of this rug, and the photo showed the design at full size on a large rug. You still get the full size design, but on a small rug, so the elements look rather oversized. It took some adjusting to get used to it. It is shedding a lot, which fills the vacuum cleaner, but probably because of how new and thick it is. It can certainly afford to lose some fibres. It is very dense. I like the charcoal background. It's not as 'jarring' as black would be. I've included a photo of the rug from Wayfair's website beside the smaller version I bought. The Crocs are to give the photo scale.. Nancy. Colchester. The carpet is absolutely fab!!! I love it!!! The delivery was awful so nothing to do with Wayfair all to do with the delivery man who pushed the carpet into the hallway with such force it hit the small table in front of my grandmother clock causing an ornament to fall off it and break - he was on his phone , in a hurried rush and being very careless - he said sorry very quickly and ran off without closing the door - on top of this it was a rainy day and he stood on my champagne coloured mat and did not wipe his feet beforehand so I ended up with dirty footprints on my mat..
