This is a very thick and heavy high/low motif rug. It is very striking. I bought a small version of this rug, and the photo showed the design at full size on a large rug. You still get the full size design, but on a small rug, so the elements look rather oversized. It took some adjusting to get used to it. It is shedding a lot, which fills the vacuum cleaner, but probably because of how new and thick it is. It can certainly afford to lose some fibres. It is very dense. I like the charcoal background. High quality, great-looking rug. It is thick and substantial under foot. Keep in mind that the white is raised slightly above the blue - just in case that is a problem for you. Its alright, can be better -- Pretty to the eye but not convenient/efficient. not a big fan of the wool shedding. I read that it would take up 2-3 months for the wool rug come to normal terms (stop shedding). Its been 2 months i believe and I am impatient and annoyed with it as I continue to see balls of wool forming as people walk and shedding on our clothes. Not a good rug if you have kids for sure, and we as adults we can't just sit down on the rug (which is a main reason we bought it for our family room, especially during movie nights) and enjoy it! Therefore there should be warnings about this type of rug and/or instructions r additional tool kit for care and maintenance.
