Needed a jute type rug to match hardwood floor in family room and not compete with its area rug. Looked for a long time and took a risk on this one as colors are so hard to tell on the internet. This runner matched perfectly with my sisal wool stairs carpet. I was looking for something with a black trim also as I have some black on the banisters. Great quality and arrived quickly and well wrapped. First experience with Wayfair and won’t be my last. Updated Slightly reduced my rating as there is potential for the wool to come loose. The beater-type cleaner is not as effective due to the weave. The strong suction of the vacuum pulls out the fine dirt which has accumulated between the fibers. Sisal is super absorbent and will hold onto liquids. If a wet sisal rug doesn't dry completely, it can develop mold and mildew so it's important to use as little water as possible when cleaning. If your sisal rug does end up getting wet, allow it to dry completely before placing it back on the floor. How to dry clean your sisal rug 1. Begin by sprinkling baking soda or corn flour on top of the rug. 2. Leave the powder to sit on the rug for about one hour in order to absorb all the dirt.3.Shake the rug to remove excess powder.4.Afterwards, use the upholstery brush to vacuum the rug.

This rug has been hand made on traditional handlooms in India and it is entirely from Jute vegetable fibre, which makes this rug strong and durable. Jute fibre is also considered to be the most environmentally friendly fibre at it is easily recyclable at the end of the product's lifetime.

This is a lovely chunky rug but I wouldn't really call it brown. It's more like a dark grey bordering on black. It has quite a cool tone, which doesn't work if you were looking for a warm chocolatey brown rug (like me!). Apart from the colour which is actually fine but not what I was looking for, I do quite like it. It's quite thick and and a decent weight which I'm hoping means it won't shift about when walked on.
