We bought this rug as we liked this and another one. We ended up sending this back , not because it wasn’t nice , it’s just the colours were slightly more pronounced than we had thought , so whilst it had a faded vintage feel to it , some areas were slightly too rich for us , but that’s personal preference. It felt robust and heavy enough for what we were looking for. We didn’t wash it , so cannot comment on that. A nice all round rug , just not what we wanted in the end, we preferred another one.. Yarns are deliberately dyed unevenly to add old-world character to the collection’s classic Persian and Turkish designs. Vacuum regularly to prevent dust and crumbs from settling into the roots of the fibers. Avoid direct and continuous exposure to sunlight. Use rug protectors under the legs of heavy furniture to avoid flattening piles. Do not pull loose ends; clip them with scissors to remove them. Turn the carpet occasionally to equalize wear.

This rug is very thin, but that is what I wanted. I bought 3 different sizes for my kitchen and sunroom. I love the colors. My only negative is that they have a nap, kind of like velvet. From one ongle they look dark and another they look light. That means when you sweep or even walk across them, you see light and dark patches.
