This hallway carpet is a twist pile that has been constructed with 2-ply yarn. A twist pile is the most commonly used style of carpet manufacturing. This carpet runner is a cut pile, this essentially means that each tuft stands individually, and if one tuft was to come loose then it would not affect the tuft next to it.
