Established in 1972, the barefoot college is a non-government organisation that has been providing basic services and solutions to problems in rural communities, with the objective of making them self-sufficient and sustainable. These 'Barefoot solutions' can be broadly categorised into solar energy, water, education, health care, rural handicrafts, people's action, communication, women's empowerment and wasteland development. They are made from rags that have been left over from the garment industry and handmade on a hand-loom. They recommend that they are hand washed in a cool wash. As these rugs have been made with recycled rags they cannot guarantee that they are colour-fast. Due to the handmade nature of these products designs may slightly vary but loveliness comes as standard.

I like the carpet it looks like the picture. The colors look good with my furniture, it’s always hard to tell how it will look by seeing a picture, I’m happy with the purchase.
