This stair carpet runner is a twist pile which has been constructed with a 2 ply yarn. A twist pile is the most commonly used style of carpet manufacturing. The carpet runner is a cut pile, this essentially means that each tuft stands individually and if one tuft was to come loose then it would not affect the tuft next to it. A cut pile is a very popular choice for pet owners, as the pet's claws can not catch the pile, unlike a loop pile which could potentially snag if a loop was caught by a claw. The pile of this carpet runner is quite close, this makes the carpet less prone to flattening or crushing. It has been classified as a heavy domestic product, this means that it is suitable for high traffic areas in all domestic locations, especially the staircase. This stair carpet runner has a latex, gel backing. This means that this carpet runner is non-slip and will not move on hard floorings such as Wood, Vinyl or Ceramic Tiles. It is also anti-slip on carpet but the effectiveness depends on the thickness of the carpet it is sat on. The thicker the carpet, the less effective it will be. Whilst being non-slip, the backing is also 100% waterproof and rot proof. This ensures that the carpet will not shrink or wrinkle once it dries out from being wet. The texture of this carpet is soft and smooth, it is comfortable to walk on. Whilst being soft and smooth, it is very durable and practical. The carpet is made using a fibre called Polyamide. Polyamide is a man-made fibre that has good properties and advantages. This carpet stain resistant and resistant to fading from the UV sunlight. It is anti-static and moth proof. Fabulous, hard wearing natural rug. Not soft to walk on, however, it is actually quite rough under foot but we use it in a high traffic area which is practical and looks good in the room. Only reason I havent given 5 stars is that some of the weave has come apart.. Sharon. Burton-on-trent, GB. Sat Jun 13 2026

This stair carpet runner is made using a flatweave technique and is made for maximum durability. A flatweave is more commonly known as a basketweave. Traditionally, flatweave carpets are made using natural fibre such as sisal or wool. However, this carpet is made using a man-made fibre (polypropylene) that is a fraction of the price of a naturally made carpet, however just as durable. The pile of this hall carpet runner is extremely durable and will not flatten down as there is no pile to do so. Due to the cleverly woven construction of this pile, this is great for pets as the runner is pretty much indestructible. It has been classified as a heavy domestic product, this means that it is suitable in high traffic areas in all domestic locations, especially the hallway. This stair runner has a latex, gel backing. Lovely runner does the job and stays in place no movement when walking on it. Louise. GB. Sun May 14 2023

This stair carpet runner is a loop which has been made for durability. A loop pile is becoming one of the most popular styles of carpet weave, due to the value for money that it represents. The weave is made so that it bounces back when walked on almost like a spring effect, this means that the pile will not flatten down easily and maintain it's looks for many years to come. A loop pile is not so good for pet owners as the pets claws could potentially catch the pile and cause it to snag. Ideally if you have pets then you would want to go for a cut / twist pile to stop this happening but it really does depend on the behavior of your pet. The pile of this carpet runner is a very tight knit, this makes the stair carpet less prone to flattening or crushing. It has been classified as a heavy domestic product, this means that it is suitable in high traffic areas in all domestic locations, especially the staircase. This stair runner has a latex, gel backing. The means that the runner is non slip and grips to pretty much any surface. Also it means that it can be fitted on the stairs without gripper and underlay and simply fixed to the stairs using adhesive, staples or stair rods. Underlay and gripper can still be used but it is not a necessity. The gel backing makes the stair carpet 100% waterproof and rot proof, meaning that spillages will never cause the product to shrink. The texture of this carpet is smooth, however it has a firm feel and offers little comfort. This product is not made to be luxurious, it is made to be very durable and practical. This stair carpet runner is made using a flatweave technique and is made for maximum durability. A flatweave is more commonly known as a basketweave. Traditionally, flatweave carpets are made using a natural fibre such as Sisal or Wool. However this stair carpet is made using a man made fibre (Polypropylene) that is a fraction of the price of a naturally made carpet, however just as durable. The pile of this carpet runner is extremely durable and will not flatten down as there is no pile to do so. Due to the cleverly woven construction of this pile, this is great for pets as the runner is pretty much indestructible. The texture of this carpet is fairly coarse, it has a firm feel and offers little comfort. This product is not made to be luxurious, it is made to be very durable and practical. The carpet is made using a fibre called Polypropylene. Polypropylene is a man made fibre that has fantastic properties and advantages. This carpet 100% bleach proof and stain resistant. It is also resistant to fading from the UV sunlight. It is anti-static and moth proof. The product has a low radius of ignition and has been hot nut tested to comply with (BS 4790).
