Knotted Persian Rugs

The Izmir Rug Collection displays distinctive designs in luxuriant, finely worsted New Zealand wool. Timeless floral and geometric motifs are masterfully hand-knotted in the rich hues and loop pile of these posh floor coverings. A chic addition to traditional or classy-contemporary home decor.

Rug is exactly what I was looking for style and color wise. Description should say Linen/Dusty Sage and Olive. The teal in the rug is slight, which is what I wanted - am guessing that due to the handmade aspect of the rug, each one will be unique. This photo was taken 12 hours after placing pad and rug - so still settling. Chairs and side table that will go on the rug are to the right and blend perfectly. This is the 8x10 size and finishes off the music listening area in front of a fireplace (to left out of sight) in our open style renovated mid-century modern house.. Anonymous. Raleigh, NC. These rugs have a timeless elegance that is more topical now than ever. This collection is perfect for both Pip and modern interiors, and makes a great addition to the current vintage style. This high-quality, hand-knotted rug has been made in India. The pile is made of pure virgin wool, spun into a fine, worsted yarn. Well made and great quality, the rug has around 140,000 knots/m². The tightly-woven knots result in a dense pile, which perfectly reproduces the pattern. This Persian rug is perfect for enhancing any living room, proving that its design is just as relevant today as it was in years gone by. Each hand-knotted rug is unique, and can be considered to be a work of art in its own right. The technique has been handed down from generation to generation, making each rug something particularly special. The handmade rug's slight differences in size, colour and design make it a real work of art. The finest yarns, combined using centuries old, traditional techniques, give the rugs a very special style. With this brand, you can find a piece of timeless tradition in an evermore fast-paced world. Great quality, they use designs which have been steeped in history, proven over the centuries to stand the test of time. Hand-knotted carpets are all oriental carpets. Oriental carpets stand for quality and originality. Every single hand-knotted carpet carries its own history and is absolutely unique. They were woven several centuries ago by nomads from sheep's or goat's wool. The nomads used the carpets as seats, wall hangings or in cold times also as blankets. The carpets coming from the orient have different patterns and colours depending on the country of origin. Each country has brought its own style. The most famous oriental carpets are the Persian carpets from today's Iran. The carpets are named after the city where they were woven. The most famous Persian carpets are as follows: Nain, Baluch, Gabbeh, Bakhtiar, Abidjan, Bidjar - Herati, Loori, Ghoum, Mir, Tabriz and Tehran. Indian oriental carpets are also among the most famous hand-knotted carpets. Knotted rugs of all kinds have been brought in by neighbouring countries. Currently, most carpets are still hand-knotted there and are comparatively cheaper than in other countries of origin. The production of carpets has travelled a lot around the world and became popular with the Indian people when they passed through in the 16th century. Not only beautiful carpets have remained in India, but also the art of knotting from all over the world, like the oriental carpet Mir offered here. Many types of carpets that are knotted in India are visually leaning heavily on Persian carpets. Another important note is that hand-knotted carpets are always special unique pieces. This means that slight variations in design, colour and size are possible.
