It can be machine washed at 40 degrees for easy cleaning. Rooms around the house that would benefit from a washable rug include - bathrooms, conservatories entrance-ways, kids' bedrooms, and playrooms.

This mat does everything that I wanted it to do. The 50 x 60cm mat fits perfectly between my coffee table and armchair where I spend much of the evenings and have breakfast there so the new carpet gets a lot of wear and could get very grubby here if not protected. I can see what one reviewer meant when they said it was yellow though I think yellow gives the wrong impression of the colour. As a designer, I would call this beige with a gold or pale gold tinge to it. I don't mean metallic or shiny, just a slightly more brassy sort of colour than just light brown. It would look fine in a bathroom, bedroom and it looks good in my front room - 10 times better than a dirty carpet would and costing less than £10, it's well worth the money. I haven't washed it yet but it is very lightweight and would be no problem to pop in the washing machine. Being lightweight, though, it does move around rather easily and, on carpet, perhaps it could do with some grips to stop it sliding around. I don't know what it is like on tiles.. Bj. New Romney, GB.
