I am really quite pleased with this rug! A runner seemed the ideal shape for a long narrow section of our loft conversion and we are trying to mix traditional and modern ideas together. This rug is quite a traditional design with a short to medium length wool pile which is very nice to walk on with bare feet. The colour is a trifle darker than the Wayfair photos but it still looks vibrant. The Gabbeh belongs to the carpets that were made by nomads and used for several purposes. The Gabbeh carpet is despite the coarse weave / loom a very soft carpet and fits wonderfully in the bedroom, hallway, and living room. The popularity of Gabbeh carpets increased enormously in the 90s.
