Essential to any functional cook space, the tap is a kitchen fixture you'll use every single day. To find one that's right for your space, review your current sink setup and consider how different styles will look on your counter. Then, read up on the top tap types and configurations below in our kitchen tap buying guide.

Kitchen Tap Mounting Types

Deck Mounted: The most common mounting type, this tap style can be attached to the counter (also known as the 'sink deck') or the sink itself. If mounted on the counter, enough clearance is needed between the sink and the wall behind it.

Wall Mounted: Typically paired with farmhouse sinks, this tap style is installed directly to the wall above your sink, freeing up counter space. Plumbing connections above the countertop are required for installation.

Kitchen Tap Types

Single Lever Monobloc Taps: Monobloc taps are by far the most common of kitchen taps and require a single tap hole and single spout. The single lever means that these tap types come with just one lever that disperses either hot or cold water.

Twin Lever Monobloc Taps: As the name suggests, the monobloc taps styles require just a single tap hole and spout, however here two levers manage between hot and cold water instead of just one.
