Roakes Floating Shelf

Overall, I'm really happy with this bookshelf. It feels solid, sturdy, and well made, with a nice finish and colour that look great in the room. I also like that it can be mounted either vertically or horizontally, which gives you flexibility depending on your space. A few things to be aware of: - If you're not confident with wall mounting, I'd recommend getting someone experienced to install it. It's quite heavy, and mistakes can easily damage your wall. - No wall screws or fixings are included, so you'll need to buy the correct ones yourself. I found it a bit confusing to work out the right size. - Because it's heavy, make sure you use suitable fixings, especially if you're mounting it on a plasterboard wall. - The small stickers supplied to cover the screw heads don't match the shelf colour very well, so they stand out more than expected. Despite these minor issues, it's a sturdy, attractive bookshelf that does the job well, and I'd recommend it.

Just the job for displaying Lego models, above a long radiator, in my son's bedroom. Sturdy and simple to build. Be careful not to overtighten or laminate shifts.

Shelves are sturdy enough, but would agree with others that the colour matched stickers that go over the chrome Allen screws are not really fit for the purpose and are cheap looking. Hanging the shelves may prove problematic if you're not a handy person, advice would be to make up a template of where the brackets are out of some old lining paper or other rolls of paper you may have, and drill the holes through the paper after levelling the template on the wall. And be prepared to take it up and down several times if your wall isn't perfectly flat, as some screws will need to go in or come out further of the wall to meet the brackets, as there's no give in the shelves.
