9 Pair Solid Wood Flip Down Shoe Storage

The first order arrived with one panel damaged and as the replacement part did not arrive, Wayfair agreed to send a complete new order. The cabinet is perfect with regards to dimensions for the space we have and is functional, albeit 9 pairs of shoes is a generous estimate. It fits 6 pairs more comfortably. It was reasonably straightforward to assemble. Unfortunately, it lets itself down in the quality of the finish. The wooden components are rough and there is no seal, lacquer or varnish. We undertook to do this ourselves, applying 4 coats of a water based lacquer (£25.96 for 500mls) and rubbing down with 240 grit sandpaper in between coats to gain a smooth, wipe clean finish and enhanced grain. The final result is very pleasing but we should not have had to spend the additional time and money.

Genuinely solid acacia wood and pretty easy to assemble. With an added coat of Danish oil its looking lovely, fits exactly where I wanted it and a single drawer can actually take a pair of size 6 walking boots!
