I purchased this storage unit to maximise vertical space and because of the door flaps to keep out dust. I live in a rented flat, so I wanted something that can be assembled by one person and is portable to take for when I move out. (Also portable if I need to move it out of the way in the hallway for delivery of any other large items of furniture.) This seemed like the only option that emphasises height - other than wardrobes, which are too deep and bulky for entrance rooms (limited space), or tall and shallow bookcases with shelving, which lack doors therefore, everything is visible and gathers dust. If you buy two of these, they can be stacked to the ceiling - approx. 230cm. The hidden storage is versatile. I use it not just for shoes, but also hats, scarves, gloves, etc. The exterior does get static and dog hair sticks to it. (If I owned my own home, I would definitely prefer something made out of wood, as I am not a fan of plastic however, the only way of getting a wooden piece of hidden storage furniture (i.e. crucially with a door), which is both shallow and tall (contains at least ten shelves vertically), and further extendable to a height of your own desire is to have unaffordable custom-made cabinetry done for a hallwayentrance room, which costs thousands of pounds and is always permanently built-in. Really pleased with this shoe storage , I thought when it was built as quite tall it would not be stable with all the draws full of shoes but stands up well so would recommend.

Better than I expected, although lifting it up always disorganises it.
