It will only look this good if you have all the wood the same size

I enjoy a flat-pack challenge, asked my son to help, as the instructions say it's a two person job. Instructions are clear enough, but the engineering on the components is DIRE. Some pilot holes, but only half as many as needed, so wood splits. Joint connectors with threads that don't match, and the 'lid' is too wide, so can't be screwed to the base as suggested. This has been a lengthy, frustrating and undermining experience. I chose this wood store above others because it fits the space I have available. Low cost was a bonus, but not the principle reason for choosing.
