If this was £350 and had engineered wood in the description I would give it 5 stars. However at £650 and incorrectly described as solid wood im really dissatisfied. When I received my delivery confirmation the courier company stated they will unpack the item and take the packaging with them. The delivery was delayed by several weeks and they didn’t unpack it. As it was described as solid wood I was expecting a solid unit to arrive with maybe some separate shelves. However 4 flat packed parcels arrived with a bag of screws etc the same as other engineered wood or plastic covered chipboard, which is what this looks like. The packaging was severely damaged, I spent a lot of time and effort having to take photos of the damaged packaging however when I opened it all there was no damage on the products. The panels were filthy and took a lot of cleaning they had black dust on them. The factory finish on the panels was not great. Little nicks here and there and a very poor finish, for £650. The front and side panels are gloss, however the side strip of the front panel is matte, which makes the look really cheap from the side angles. The assembly instructions are really unclear and not to scale. The sales photo showed the height between each shelf not accurately, when you put it together there are support bars that attach to the underside of each shelf which then massively reduces the height you thought you had. It is the daddy of plastic covered chipboard so yes it is strong and sturdy. But it’s not solid wood, and it’s not worth £650, and is a lot cheaper looking with a cheap finish than what is advertised. It even has two tubes of glue as a couple of the steps to put it together. The back panel is a piece of cardboard with sellotape in the middle like what you see on cheap low end storage, and you are expected to hammer it in the back of the side panels (which I didn’t do as that cracks the plastic coating when the screws split the chipboard). If I’d have seen this in person I wouldn’t have paid £650 for it.
