The mattress came with its own tool to cut the plastic off. As I got halfway through cutting the plastic the mattress sprung to life. Over the course of the next few hours it grew until it was 30cm deep. The quality of the mattress is excellent. Very good value for money. I cannot fault this mattress at all. Although this was an open box item, the condition is very good. I researched it carefully and know that it's well made of quite natural materials. It is probably the most comfortable mattress I can remember sleeping on. Only thing is it's deep and heavy so a bit tricky to lift for turning and changing the sheets. Night night . . .. Madeline.
