The controls work with three customizable presets and an arrow up and arrow down,Once you have the height you want long press the preset you want it to save to. Just watch that your cable lengths can accomodate the height you are going to. Also the control panel sticks out so be careful you dont lean on it by accident and move the height. We provided detailed numbers in the installation instructions to make installation simple. It was reasonably easy to assemble with two people. Delivered in good time, easy to put together, only reason I gave 4* is one of the screws won't go into the sockets because the bit that is should screw into is missing. I mean apologies for an already cluttered desk, it was for my teenage son. This desk is very sturdy and easy to put together (an older brother 17 did it). He needed a desk for more room, gaming and study and this desk provides it all. The only downside is that the base unit from his PC was too long to fit on the shelf (bottom right).
