I have hip issues and needed a chair with a deeper seat to support my legs from hips to knees, and this one fits the bill. It's not very soft, but that is actually perfect for me! I need more support, rather than a chair that gives that sinking-in comfort that a lot of fancy office chairs give you. So only choose this chair if you want firmness and support. I'm short (just over 5 foot) and although I needed the deep seat, I didn't want a high back and I didn't want arms. So, once again, got to say, this is the perfect chair for me.
