One shelf was cracked but I glued it back together with wood glue having assembled it without noticing and it was fine. Thankfully just looks like a bit of the wood grain. It also had a glob of wet glue on the top bit which ended up hidden so not an issue worthy of returning it. I got it on sale and wouldn't have paid full price, but am ordering another at the sale price because it's a good enough little bookcase. It is not as dark as the first picture, thats due to my bad camera. The true colour is what is shown in the next to photographs. The material says wood and good quality chipboard which I can see the chipboard is nice, compact and has weight to it, although on the downside, this entire bookshelf is covered in a high gloss vinyl that is a very obscure tortoiseshell colour.. I sadly expected wood stain or paint as It had no mention of otherwise. The product is probably great for someone with incredibly warm toned furniture. This is not for me, as it has vinyl all over it, in an obscure rich rust brown colour and burnt wood black colour, it is too high gloss for me also. It is a shame as once put together it is incredibly sturdy and stands tall around 4”11 maybe. I would not, not recommend this as it is nice for the right consumer, although it is literally overpriced, and the colour and vinyl is not for me. I will be sending back. A nice cream mix of wood in this would be an absolute winner for me, but they unfortunately only stock white. This product is not Borough Wharf, the product is from Songmics and is part of their Vasagle range. If you go to Songmics website you can purchase this for $59 with free shipping, that is only £43. The impression you get on line is wood however this is made of bamboo. Secondly when you put books in it they fall out the side and if they are too slim through the bottom of the shelf as it’s not a solid.
