This stunning 4 drawer chest has a Mexican style featuring black metal fittings with decorative studs and a waxed finish. The cabinet frame and drawers are solid pine with strong plywood used for hidden surfaces such as the cabinet back and the drawer bases.

Gorgeous chest of drawers. Was quite difficult to put together- no pre-drilled holes so you have to make sure you’re putting the screws in the correct place. Although Chinese cabinets would sometimes contain small drawers on the inside, the Chinese did not use chests of drawers for storing clothes as we do today. Our oriental style chest of drawers is therefore not strictly a Ming design, but we like to think that it is in keeping with the ethos of that time. The simple design, including an apron stretching across the bottom that is typically seen on Ming period furniture, gives it a contemporary look that still has more than a hint of Chinese style.
