Lovely shelf. The colour is a deep red rather than blood red which is great. I wouldn't recommend placing very heavy items. I have cookbooks and a few items to display in the kitchen. I ordered this in the OakWhite. It is an economical storage solution for a very tight space (behind a door) in a guest bedroom. I just ordered wicker storage cubes to complete the look. Built, the bookshelf matches our furniture well and the adjustable shelves allowed us to adjust it to meet our needs. However...putting the back on this was a nightmare, and I'm someone who quite likes a bit of building.
