There were a few dent spots but for the price it is pretty sturdy. There was a mistake in the instruction but we were able to make it right . There are some splinters coming off the corners of the slats so we might want to use sand paper to let it smooth out to avoid kids getting splinter if whoever sleeping on the bottom side happen to run her hand or arm through it.. The sofa is very smart the colour is great but the back leans inwards so sitting on it is not as comfortable as I had hoped. Nor is the top wood piece easy to to put on as the dowels do not fit to the holes and I had to carefully fiddle with it for quite some time as the material around it is easily ripped. If I were this company I would be reinforcing the material around the holes for the dowels and doing a better job of ensuring they line up exactly. I like the sofa but would not buy another.. Sherry.
