Backyard Discovery Belmont Cedar Wooden Swing Set with 3 Swings and 1 Slide

Perfect for our space. Very solid, safe and good construction. Our girls love it! We painted ours white!

When we first put this set together a year ago, I loved it. Although, I must agree with other reviewers who complained of splits in important areas of the wood when tightening bolts and screws. Also, we had to use out own wood screws to attach the part with the plastic handles as it wasn't really connected with the provided screw. After a year of use/wind and weather, the canopy that goes over the top of the slide is basically destroyed (see pictures). I expected the set to look nice for at least a few years, but now we will need to figure out some alternative that can withstand the weather. We live in North Dakota, so winters are notoriously cold (although this winter was mild in comparison to many) and it is often windy here. However, that being said, I think a play set meant to be outdoors should be rugged. I'm not sure I would buy the same set again.

This swing set is exactly what I was hoping for! It’s sturdy, looks great in our backyard and my 2 year old LOVES it. We added a baby swing also ) couldn’t be happier! Took my fiancé and his dad about a day and a half total to put together.

Went together with little effort and looked great however, after only a couple months it looks like it’s years old. The wood is cheap, light and bolts push into the wood when tightening. Flimsy even after retightening several times. Wood is already splitting in major support areas and bleaching out. See pictures.

Swing set arrived quickly. Everything was in the boxes and nothing was damaged. Instructions were very easy to understand. Assembly took about 8 hours (I had a friend help) because we took the reviews to heart and hand-tightened most bolts on the main steps to avoid splitting of the wood. I did not climb on the actual unit to install any of the harder to reach parts as the wood was flexing and making sounds that assured me this was not meant for anyone over 130 lbs to climb on. I was hoping it would be a bit more sturdy than that. But...my kids love it and it looks great.
