I had mine installed right before some heavy rain storms that hit here in Texas recently. I was deeply concerened because I had seen the feed back about moisture getting through where the pergola is mounted to the house. I can say that very little maybe a few drops get through I believe as long as the pergola is installed at a slope it works just fine. the gutters themselves are relatively shallow so heavy rain will naturally overwhelm the drainage system but do to the pergola being sloped properly the water is deterred away from the house. if anything I just wish the gutter system was a little bigger.

I got my pergola installed a couple weeks ago and it is great. Having the louvers closed provides a nice cool spot to sit during the hot afternoon sun. The pergola offers great rain protection too. Installed it myself and it only took 5 hours.

Amazing Pergola! My Trex deck was in full sun and got hotter than two rats doing the dirty in a wool sock. Now I'm able to enjoy sipping on margaritas in the cool shade while grilling up a storm. The pergola was super easy to install since I paid someone else to do it,but is very secure and easy to operate.
