Steel Retractable Pergola with Beige Roof for Backyard, 277cm x 363cm

Canopy has only been setup for about two weeks at this point… needed extra hands to hold parts up during construction but family is always game. Box was a bit beat up in shipping, actually ended up missing several parts but customer service was super awesome and walked me through what I needed. We were only delayed a week to be made whole again. Great job Wayfair. I do recommend if you are going to ship such heavy items with so many parts, maybe more sturdy cardboard or perhaps ship multiple smaller boxes to prevent the order arriving like a wrapped mummy. Still, thank you customer service and love the shade!

Complex assembly. Missing parts and hardware. Came bent and banged up. Luckily I have a good selection of tools to make it work. It does fit the space perfectly though.

Overall, not too shabby. Seems sturdy enough once you get it all put together. The instructions leave something to be desired. It's only pictures and no descriptions; pro tip, make sure when you're building the pergola to ensure the holes for all poles and stands are facing the right way. I had to take things apart and turn them several times; it was very annoying and time-consuming. This could have been prevented had the instructions had some sort of verbiage describing this. Additionally, the packaging was absolutely horrid and I think the company needs to ship the package in several smaller packages. You can see in the photos how it arrived, I was surprised parts hadn't fallen out, but they easily could have. For this reason, I am giving the product a 3.5-star rating. Could have been a 5 had the instructions been more thoughtful, and the packaging been done better.

Fit our deck perfectly. I dont understand comments about it not being strong. We left it up through a Northeast winter. We just bungeed the canvas open so it wouldnt blow. It makes our deck more usable in the hot summer months and everyone comments on how nice it looks.

We've had this pergola for about 1.5 years. It is nice, though there are a few downsides. A number of the screws have started to rust. We've treated them with anti-rust spray and that seems to be working. Also, you will want to definitely secure the bottom of each of the 4 posts to the ground. Ours blew over in the wind. My husband then screwed it permanently into our concrete patio, and it hasn't budged since.
