Do it yourself Insect hotel. Hammer the box itself together! Is home to various species of insects. Insects need a home, and you can help them out! You can fully craft and glue your own insect hotel. This offers insects the opportunity to hibernate and nest. Insects are useful guests in the garden. Earwigs are natural predators of aphids. Wild bees fertilize flowers. The natural habitat of many insect species is threatened by changes in their environment; an insect hotel is a way to protect them.

Handmade from natural Parkwood with moss for added camouflage, this habitat provides the ideal place for hedgehogs to shelter from rain or even hibernate for the winter. Strongly made with a solid wood frame supporting the outer Parkwood, the habitat has a doorway that adds extra protection to the hedgehog as it protrudes from the main body of the shelter, providing protection as the hedgehog enters and exits. This habitat should be placed in a sheltered location sometime before October when hedgehogs hibernate.

This is especially important nowadays as recently, hedgehogs have been nestling down in bonfire stacks before they are lit; with tragic results. Made from wood (untreated - which is best for the hedgehogs as it emits no fumes), the hedgehog house has a large opening at the front so the hedgehog can get in easily, but small enough to keep foxes and predators out.
